A round-table conference on international exchange activities
GWY held a conference under the title of what international exchange activities should be in the future on Marc 7, 2024 at Ogaki Forum Hotel. We had the honor of having Mr.Kikuchi, vice mayor of Ogaki city, Mr. Hirano the chief with us. A representative from institutions made announcements about introduction of their activities and challenges facing them. They share following challenges as follow.
1. Aging of the institutions
2. Decrease of volunteers
3. Complicated problems about accepting home stay program in terms of multiculture, religion, LGDP, dietary allergy.
4. Handing over to the next generations
Measures to cope with the challenges
1. To have more opportunities for people from abroad living in Japan to talk about their home country
2. More commitment to local activities from school education
3. Promotion of activity in liaison with international exchange institutions and companies
Shift to AI and ICT attracting younger generations.
4 .Push forward with exchange programs according to the generation
These are opinions from participants. They felt need to have more meetings to talk about challenges and reached policy of engaging in projects which they find viable.
