Gifu World Youth invited six international students of GIFU UNIVERSITY to the Multicultural Understanding Program in Ogaki, Gifu whose aim is deepening mutual understanding of both culture through exchange actives.
The first destination was Ogaki municipal Nakagawa primary school where they attended the exchange session with the 5,6th graders of the school. The visitors delivered self-introduction with their mother tongue and songs. Primary school students sang songs for them. They went to Ogaki Forum Hotel to attend the International Understanding round-table conference called “Our culture and history”. About 30 citizens who are interested in international exchange programs took part in the get-together which included questions and answers, self-introduction, speaking about impressive experiences during their stay in Japan. The students joined culture and history lecture including learning about haiku poems composed by Basyou and DVD of Okunohosomichi; “The Narrow Road to the Deep North”. They returned to their university after visiting place of scenic beauty, Funamachi.
