From June 29 to July 21 Gifu World Youth hosted the program called “2019 GWY Summer Seminar” in which it invited 12 college students studying Japanese language at Community College of City University in Hong Kong.
They attended the Japanese language cource at Gifu Kyoritsu univ and visited sites representing culture and local industries in Gifu prefecture. Students joined Japanese language class held at Gifu Kyoritsu univ from July 1 to 12, during those days they paid visits to Ogaki city and exchange program with students of Ogaki municipal Kita primary school and learned how to dress Japanese costume called Yukata.
The other sites of visits included courtesy call Superintendent Ogaki city’s board of education, Gifu city history museum, Basho’s memorial museum, Ogaki folklore museum, Ogaki castle and local industries as Miwa brewery and Bonform co,ltd.
On July 2 they had a courtesy call Director –General of Environment Life Affairs of Gifu pref. government and on July 19 they paid a courtesy call to Ogaki city mayor. From July 15 to 17 they went to Gujo city, Takayama city and Shirakawago to exchange program. From July 6 to 7 and 13 to 14 they experienced home staying program.
On July 20, the last day, they participated culture exchange party held at Ogaki Forum Hotel with family members of host families. After this program ended they departed for their own trips within Japan.
